D.S. & Durga is a niche fragrance brand from N.Y.C. that creates scents for people who are looking for a disruptive and one-of-a-kind sillage.
Their motto is “perfume is armchair travel”, every fragrance from this house feels like discovering a new landscape or a new place in our town.
For example, Burning Barbershop is the smell you can feel entering a Brooklyn barbershop devastated by flames. It’s really impressive.
This suggestive power is the same in Jazmín Yucatan, a fragrance that paints an imaginary flowery forest that gives me the same vibes as Sebastião Salgado’s “Amazônia” photos collection.
A wild rainforest landscape where nature and humans live together respecting each other.
Jazmín Yucatan feels like a boat tour on a green amazon rainforest river covered in Jasmine flowers. A quiet yet chaotic environment where wild vegetation and animals live in a symbiotic relationship.
There’s vines falling from trees on both river’s sides and the muddy water’s surface is covered in thousands of small white fragrant jasmine flowers. We don’t know what could there be under the surface, we can feel on our skin the hidden dangers of those dense waters.
All the shards of fear in our heart disappear when the clean, honey-like and slightly animalic scent of jasmine flowers tingles our nose, clearing our mind from every dreadful thought.
Try their fragrances if you’re looking for something extraordinary and complex.
I’d advice this fragrance to people who are new to D.S. And Durga’s fragrance world.
